My first sewing projects will be simple tops, and I would like their colors to fit into a small wardrobe. The fabric shop sells generous lengths, so choosing poorly could leave me with material I cannot easily use elsewhere. The clothes these tops need to match are mostly grey trousers and denim, rather than a particularly colorful collection. My current sample pile includes cream, muted green, and burgundy, although none of those choices is final yet.
