Our team is updating the staff portraits, and I have been asked to choose two background colors before the photographer arrives. We have time to test this properly before the booking is finalized. Our existing blue backdrop seems to emphasize shadows on several people in the proofs. My plan is to review a few printed samples before buying the full backdrop. Everyone will wear their own clothes, so a strict coordinated wardrobe is unrealistic. One topic I am trying to understand is personal color analysis yet I cannot tell how directly that applies to a backdrop used by many people. Could a neutral reference card make the printed comparisons easier for everyone to judge? We can ask the photographer to hold lighting and exposure constant for the test. I would appreciate a repeatable comparison method rather than a separate label for each colleague.
